Kiev officially led foreign mercenaries to participate in punitive action in Donbass

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law «On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine concerning military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine by foreigners and stateless persons».

For this decision voted 229 MPs. The initiator of the document was the MP from the «People’s Front» Dmitry Tymchuk.

«The aim of the project is to improve the AFU combat capability and reduce human and financial losses of Ukraine, which are a consequence of fighting in the east of the country, through the provision of rights to foreigners and stateless persons to perform military service (contract) in the AFU», — said in an explanatory note to the document.

In addition, it is noted that due to foreigners who will enter the ranks of the Ukrainian army will decrease the need in the mobilization of citizens, as well as reduced the costs for various forms of combatants’ payments, the disabled and the families of the victims.

To serve the foreign citizens will have to sign a contract with the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
